Birthdays
About Traditional-ArtistsWell, it's pretty much all in the title - a traditional art club, aimed at bringing trad artists together, finding and showcasing some of the amazing traditional art and artisan crafts you can find on DA, and getting exposure for traditional artists and artisans. We are not elitist, and no art will be turned down as long as it's been traditionally made.
NB: *
Traditional-Artists is run by ONE person, *
Caelitha. Please bear with me if your note isn't read and replied to
immediately - I can only be in so many places at once!
I
will read and reply (if needed) to
ALL notes and comments, so there is no need to send more than one!

Please don't contact my personal account with club matters like submissions -
it won't make things work faster! It also helps me if you put something relevant in the subject line when you send in notes - "submit", "contest", "question" etc, rather than leave it saying (no subject).

JoiningQ: How do I join the club?
A: Just watch the club - it's that simple!I'll still accept join notes, but you don't need to send one, and you
must watch the club.
Please don't submit anything until you receive a "welcome" note and a watch from the club.
The only time you will need to send a "join" note is if you have no traditional or artisan craft deviations in your gallery, so nothing to submit. If I don't hear from you that you want to join, I'll assume you only want to watch the club, and you won't be added to the watchlist.

Please display the club avatar in your journal or the link in your signature - I won't make this a rule, but I'd appreciate it!
Q: How do I add the icon to my journal?
A: Just type : icontraditional-artists : (with the colons but without the spaces) into your journal.Q: How do I add the link to my signature?
A: Go to Account Tools
Edit Settings
Identity, and type : devtraditional-artists : (with the colons but without the spaces) into the box under "Comment Signature".
Submissions
We operate a collections system for submissions. All you need to do is send me the
thumb OR
link of your submission in a note with the subject submit or submission. You don't need to send any more information than that.
Q: How do I send you the link to my submissions?
A: Just copy and paste the URL into a note and send it to the club. (like this:
[link] not like this:
[link])

You are limited to
4 submissions per calendar month.

Please do not submit multiple versions of the same completed deviation - if you have differently cropped versions of the same piece of art, you'll have to choose one to submit to the club. This doesn't apply to WIPs, where each version is clearly different and shows your working process.

If you're new to collections, here's how it works:
Submissions will be added to the club collections folder for the current month. Youll get a message when this happens, but
you dont need to thank me for it!
Ill take screenshots of the thumbs as they appear in the collections folder, and submit those instead of resubmitting every deviation individually. Ill put a list with a link direct each of your deviations in the description, along with a link to the current folder, so its easy to find the pictures you like! And all the

s go to your original deviations

Submission categories
As this is a traditional art club, I will only accept deviations that have been submitted to traditional art categories, e.g. paintings or drawings. I will also accept artisan crafts and mixed media - anything that's handmade.
Minor digital alterations that improve the appearance of the image, such as removing blemishes etc., are permitted, but
no major digital manipulation (e.g. added content, colour changes, text, photoshopped backgrounds) please.
The only exception I'm prepared to make is for comics, which I understand need to use digitally added text, provided the rest of the artwork is traditional. I'll also allow watermarked work, as the use of watermarks is entirely up to the member, and they help to stop art theft.

And while we're onto art theft, any art you submit to the club
MUST BE YOUR OWN ART. Anyone found to be submitting art that is not their own will be
banned from the club and reported to deviantART.

In keeping with dA's policy, no pornographic or obscene images will be accepted, though mature subjects may be submitted to the gallery.

Phew, that's a lot of info to sift through

Sorry about that, but reading through the rules once could save you and me a lot of time and misunderstanding later.

The rules will always be here to refer to, and are constantly evolving to address frequently asked questions, so please check back when you're unsure of something - that's what it's here for!

Now if you've got this far, go to the features page and see what we have to offer in the way of games and features at the moment.

Or you could add your birthday to the birthdays page and make sure of a month-long feature!

Please LMK. I'd like to join. (Also does pen and ink count for this club? I mean pen holder with nibs, croquils and Higgins ink. The real thing.)
